LJ returned, and there was much joy.
Jan. 17th, 2005 09:09 amWe had a really bad ice storm over the weekend, which is probably a helping reason for the LJ outage, since it's Portland-based. In any case, I've been stuck at home all weekend with no LJ to surf on, which has been fantastic. Amy and I were planning to go see Phantom of the Opera again, too. T_T But at least the speech tournament was cancelled ^_^ Now my oratory doesn't need to be ready for a couple more weeks! ^_^ I'm also going to a Congress on Tuesday. That'll be fun, I've never been to a Congress before. In any case, i've been stuck home all weekend and I've got a lot of knitting done. I want to finish my project by the first few weeks of February, so I've been going at it like a maniac.
Dad slipped and fell on the stairs yesterday, which was really scary because none of us were with him and he has a really bad back. But luckily some new neighbors were moving in across the street and saw him, so they were able to come over and help. They're really nice--a lot nicer than our other neighbors, who were really mean and yelled at my dog. -_-;; Dad has a really bad headache (almost concussed himself), but he'll be fine.
Actually, now that I think about it, Dad's had a really bad weekend. He got his tests back and his cholestrol's really high. They also think he might have prostate cancer, which Mom kindly unloaded to me last night on the way back from the knitting store. Turns out she thought she'd already told me, so she just started talking about how she hopes Dad doesn't have cancer, and I'm in the passenger seat freaking out. But he's only taken one test, and I guess the test isn't very reliable, so neither of them are too worried. It's just another thing to worry about. *sigh*
