Leaving for Camp
Jun. 19th, 2005 12:11 pmOkay, well, I'm leaving for camp in about ten minutes. My throat has picked an unconvenient time to become sore, but I have water and tea and throat drops and other kinds of herbal witchcraft, so I think I'll be fine. ^_^;; Here's hoping, anyway.
BTW, thanks to everyone who helped me through my teen angsting. Even if I didn't reply, I appreciated it, so thanks! *hugs*
Um, what else...OOH! I saw Howl's Moving Castle yesterday. ^_^ ^_^ *twee!* ^_^ ^_^ I enjoyed it, but I think that Spirited Away was a little bit better. It was weird--stuff that wasn't explained so well in the books was really clear in the movie, and stuff that wasn't clear in the movie was really well explained in the books. @.@ I thought that was a little ironic. And there were all sorts of little things in the movie that bugged me. Characterizations, the way they beat you over the head with the romance whereas the book was more subtle (and therefore a LOT more adorable, in my opinion), the way the Witch of the Waste became sort of half-good half-evil... It was still a good movie, but I think I like the book a smidge better.
IN CONCLUSION: The book was good. The movie was good. The movie as an adaptation of the book was just OK. But I guess that's a lot to ask for. ^_^
I'll be back on the 2nd, and I'll leave mid-day on the 3rd. I'll see you then! Bye! ^_^
