My library will only allow ten holds to be placed at a time. I understand that there are probably very good reasons for this, and I say this because I know there are people on my flist who work at libraries (which is awesome).

But still.

LAMESAUCE, LIBRARY. LAME. SAUCE.

That is REALLY LAME. At our branch people can put hundreds of items on hold at a time. And most I've heard have a max 50-75 cap on them. 10 is just LAME. What about parents who check out 20-30 books for their kids at a time? Or avid readers that can go through 10-20 books a month?

The reason why there's probably a limit on holds and inter-library loans is because too many requests clog can down the library's system, and we also figure that most people can't read more than ten books within the allotted time for check outs. (At our library, the check out period is only two weeks.)

ERUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGG. *winces* I feel thine pain; my library does the same dang thing, and it's now impossible to get out all the books by a particular author all at once.

Lamesauce squared.
